Sandra St. Amand
is a second-generation funeral director at Pax-Villa Funeral Homes, Inc., in Miami - Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice and a Masters degree in Public Administration from Florida A&M University and graduated from Miami-Dade College of Mortuary Science. She is a licensed funeral director and embalmer.
Sandra is a native of Miami, Florida. She attended the public and private schools in Miami-Dade County, graduating from Miami Southridge Sr. High. Prior to joining the family business, Sandra was employed with the Leon County Sheriff’s Department (Tallahassee, Florida) for 5 years. Sandra joined the family business and is credited with the opening of the second Pax-Villa Funeral Home (Ft. Lauderdale, Florida) in 2002, and the third Pax-Villa Funeral Home (Orlando, Fl) in 2006. The funeral home has now expanded to an additional location in Brooklyn, New York.
Ms. St. Amand lives her belief in “giving back” and helping to promote an agenda for the positive growth and development of our youth. She has been acknowledged for her service and dedication as a community leader and volunteer. For her contributions to the community, she has been the recipient of numerous accolades, certificates, awards and honors. In June 2002 and 2004, Ms St. Amand was featured in the Miami Herald, Business Monday, and in April 2010, Funeral Home & Cemetery News. She recently received the 2011 Woman of Power award at the National Funeral Directors and Mortician’s convention that was held in Atlanta, Ga. She freely shares her time with the youth to encourage them to seek success. She also serves as a role model for young people interested in Mortuary Science.
Sandra is a Life member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., where she is involved in international efforts. She is a member of the National Funeral Directors Association, Florida Mortician’s Association, and the Independent Funeral Directors of Florida. Sandra’s passion for the funeral profession increases with every year taking pride in the personal care, commitment and direction she provides to the families. It has brought her both personal and professional joy and fulfillment.
Sandra resides in Miramar, Florida. She is also an active member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church of Carol City under the leadership of Reverend Arthur Jackson III. Sandra enjoys travel and music.
