Therese Assad

Therese Assad (Ye Ye’) surrounded by family, at her

daughter’s home in Orlando Florida; entered into eternal rest on Saturday evening at 6:44 pm, May 24th, 2018 at the age of 95. Mrs Therese Assad was born on October 22nd, 1922 in

Arcahaie Haiti, to the late Sizelia Pierre and Gabrielle Assad. She lived most of her early life in Petion-Ville Haiti, where she was self-employed selling merchandise and food in Haiti’s grand market place. She later would begin frequent visits to the United States visiting family and for a period of time would live in Connecticut, before moving permanently to Orlando Florida to live with her daughter until her passing.

She is preceded in death by her 3 daughters: Alourde Amitie, Annette Vaillant and Marie Denise Assad, and 2 sons: Augustin Assad and Edrice Vaillant.

She leaves behind to cherish her memories:

Her sons: Alfred Vaillant & Luckner Assad 

She was blessed to have 29 grandchildren, 31 Great

Grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grand children

Therese touched the lives of many people, both in Haiti and in the United States, not only with her smile and generosity, also with a loving heart and an amazing sense of humor. Never a selfish sole, she cared for friends and family alike, by providing food, shelter and any aid she could within her means, because she loved and enjoyed helping others. She was a devoted Catholic and lived a very healthy and religious life style.
