Yolande Alexandre Obituary

Yolande Alexandre was born on June 06, 1947 in Milot, Haiti to the proud parents of Udes Alexandre Joseph and Etienna Time.  She was one of many siblings. During her younger teenage years she was a volunteer at the Catholic Church working alongside the nuns. She also volunteered her time in her community hospital helping to provide medication to those who were sick.  Even though her parents thought she was going to be a nun due to her involvement in church activities, her career choice in life was to pursue nursing to continue to help those in need in her community.  In 1976 she found an opportunity to go to Nassau Bahamas to work, so she could help her parents and siblings back home. During her years there she met Luc Vixema.  Together they became the proud parents to two great children, a son, Wilner Alexandre born April 1, 1978 and a daughter, Margaret Alexandre born July 19, 1979. Soon after she made her way to the United States wanting to provide her children a better life and to also be able to assist her family members back home.

Yolande was a devoted follower in Christ who always put God first in all that she did.

Being a member in her church choir for over 30 years, showed her love of singing for God. She has always been a hard worker throughout her life. She was a wonderful Mom, who placed her children first, providing them with all that they needed even though she was a single mom.  Yolande was also a great friend to anyone who knew her and a 2nd mom to many of her children friends. Yolande was a woman who accepted anyone and everyone for who they were, she saw the good in everyone. She was always providing supportive advice and words of encourage to those around her. Yolande was a woman who loved to cook, this was her passion. If you came to her house, you would never leave hungry cause she would give you a big plate of food. One of greatest joy was when she became a grandmother to a beautiful girl named Maliya Thermitus born September 2009.

Yolande, who was a mother, sister, niece, friend and grandmother, was a true angel on earth and was loved and respected by all who knew her. We love you mom, we will forever miss your warm smile and your sweet touches.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
