On June 24, 1930, Absalon Favard was born in Maniche, Aux Cayes, Haiti to the late Salomon Favard and Audecile Victor. When he was only five months old, Absalon’s mother sadly passed away, but he was gladly taken in and raised by his beloved grandmother in the company of four siblings. His two sisters are already deceased, but he is survived by his two brothers, Pierre and Saurel. After a few years of basic studies, Absalon started working as a farmer at a very young age to help take care of his family. This was the start of his diligent and hardworking character. He moved to Port-au Prince, Haiti to continue his life, and from there, he opened a grocery store, which tremendously contributed to his community.
At the age of thirty, Absalon met the love of his life, Dincia Denasty, who he decided to marry and join his life with. Then on, they had six beautiful children: five boys: David, Job, Alex, Emmanuel, and Samuel; and one girl: Sara. Job passed away at the age of forty-eight from terminal cancer. As a young man, Absalon was unfortunately involved in a fall accident which permanently injured his legs and left him maimed. Nevertheless, Absalon never allowed his accident to hinder him from being involved in his church called Church of God in Cacice, Haiti. In 1980, as a devoted man of God, Absalon donated a portion of his property to build a church to spread the Gospel of Christ in his community, which he named La Voix des Anges.
In 1994, due to the economic condition of Haiti, his eldest son, David, who was currently living in the United States, helped Absalon emigrate with all of the rest of his children and grandchildren to seek a better life of opportunities. Absalon never ceased to make it his priority to be involved in the education of his grandchildren, whether it was helping to enroll them or walking them to school alongside his beloved wife, Dincia. In 2011, after the tragic loss of his son Job, Absalon moved to live with his daughter, Sara in Orlando, Florida along with his two granddaughters, Christelle and Rebecca. There, Absalon found a church by the name of Christ est ma Vie, where he found a wonderful family of God. He continued to show his love for the kingdom of God by participating in every service and activity.
On August 2018, Absalon fell ill and started living in the Rehabilitation Center of Winter Park, where he was cared for with sincere and warm hearts. In the brisk winter evening of Wednesday, December 11, 2019, Absalon was called by the Lord. Behind he leaves his beloved wife of 59 years, Dincia Favard; his sons and daughters: Sara (Jean Philippe Pervy), Marie Therese Favard (wife of Job Favard), Emmanuel (Roselene Favard), Jean David (Kathlyn Colimon-Favard), Samuel, and Alex; his brothers: Pierre and Saurel; his grandchildren: Safiya, Imani- Malaika, Zakiya, Nyesha, Anne Christelle, Rebecca, Mike Daniel, Erna Julie, Alenson, Owenzy, Rose, and Steve. Other sorrowful mourners include cousins, nephews and nieces affected by his demise.
