Adelcia Joseph

March 24, 1945 — August 20, 2023

Adelcia Joseph

Adelcia was born in Haiti on March 24, 1945, specifically on the island of La Gonâve, which she held dear. Throughout her life, she was a fighter, and above all, she had a strong faith in Jesus. She assumed the role of a single mother and also engaged in various business ventures. She traveled from city to city to ensure her own survival as well as that of her only daughter.

Her intense desire to secure a better life for her daughter prompted her to leave her hometown and settle in Miragoâne in 1978. With the support of her daughter, she obtained her U.S. residency card in 2006. After bravely enduring a prolonged illness, she passed away at Broward Health Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale on Sunday, August 20, 2023.

She is survived by her daughter Luciana Edmond, as well as her grandchildren Kerland, Fred, Nadège, Augustina, Judith, and Luc. Her great-grandchildren, including Kerena, Trinel, Djanaya, Markerson, Djimytri, and Makayla, will also cherish her memory.

During this time of mourning, may each individual find the comfort and strength needed to navigate through this challenging trial. May her soul rest in peace.
