ANNE O-DETTE FRANCK was born to the parentage of Arnold Franck and Divonne Jolibois on October 7, 1953 in Côtes-de-Fer, Haiti. She was later raised by her adoptive parents, Vernicile Laures and Anglade Féquière. Anne went home to be with Jesus, her Lord and Savior, on October 23, 2023, surrounded by family and friends who loved her dearly.
Anne was a lifelong learner. She embarked on her educational journey in her homeland of Haiti, earned her undergrad nursing degree from Institut Evelyne Anspash de l’Hopital Universitaire Brugram, Bruselles, Belgium; followed by a master’s degree in nursing from Barry University. She later became a licensed chaplain and counselor. Mom was full of surprises; for example, four years ago, she earned a degree in legal science. Though one thing that wasn’t a surprise was her love for crab legs and watermelon.
A devoted believer in God, Anne possessed an in-depth understanding of the Bible, providing profound insights into scripture. In Haiti, she was the director of a center for social reintegration for children called “Centre d’Acceuil de Carrefour.” Anne was also the visionary behind an organization dedicated to supporting and empowering incarcerated women called “AFSAM.”
Anne’s heart for people was unmatched. She dedicated herself to serving the marginalized and never missed an opportunity to make a difference. Her life was a testament to her motto, “the sense of others,” which exemplified her profound empathy, compassion and generosity in helping those in need.
Within her family, Anne was the go-to counselor, a mediator, a prayer warrior, the voice of reason, the preacher, teacher, and the caregiver for all. She was also the connector, problem solver and the determined one who always found a way. Her greatest desire was for everyone to experience love and acceptance.
Anne and her former spouse, Rosemond Pradel, brought three wonderful children into the world: Jean Pradel, Johanne Pradel Wilson, and Joshua Pradel. Her legacy continues through them and her three cherished grandchildren.
Mom, we love you so much and we can’t wait to see you again in a beautiful paradise where there shall be no more sickness or death.
Anne passes through the gates of heaven, leaving behind her adoring children: Jean Pradel, Johanne Pradel Wilson, and Joshua Pradel; her son-in-law, Terrance Wilson; her daughter-in-law, Rosie Pradel; and her beloved grandchildren: Valencia Wilson, Maxwell Pradel, and Mason Pradel. She also leaves a host of caring siblings, extended family members, and cherished friends who will forever hold her in their hearts.
