Antoine Hilaire was a born-on May 22, 1946, to Conceptia Jean and Louis Hilaire at Cap Haïtien, Haiti; the 13th child of 15 siblings. He obtained his schooling at Saint Jean Bosco and Antenor Phirmin. He was gainfully employed at 4VEH Christian radio station where he was responsible for the Semi Technician Board as an Operator programmer. In search of a better life for his family, he migrated to the United States, and obtained employment on Norwegian cruise line (NCL). He diligently worked at NCL and saved enough to facilitate the migration of his family as well as extended family members to Chicago, Illinois and eventually Miami, Florida. He was dedicated to his family as well as his extended family and worked multiple jobs to ensure everyone was cared for. He would often give his last to anyone in need whether friend, family, or acquaintance.
Antoine was generous to all who crossed his path and blessed all who came his way through sound counsel, gifts of his time, and other various gifts. He was always willing to lend a hand to all who crossed his path and always showed kindness and gratitude to all. He had a love for family and was always surrounded by friends and family. He treasured relationships and has maintained friendships that weathered life’s trials and tribulations for more than sixty years. He was loved and respected wherever he went and gained many friendships along the way. At times, those friendships blossomed into becoming honorary family members. His pride and joy were his children, grandchildren and his great granddaughter and he was delighted whenever he was in their presence as well as watching them grow up. He always had a surprise for all his grandchildren and granddaughter; They would all walk away from his presence with a big smile on their faces. He delighted in giving and spreading joy and it pleased him to bless not only his own but all who crossed his path.
Antoine endured a lot of hardship in life, but he never allowed the hardships to define him; he triumphed through all obstacles only to succumb to illness which led to his demise on April 6th. His goal and mission in life was to always help others at his own expense never worrying about his needs or wants. On April 6th, at 3PM God saw it fit to reclaim a beloved child by the name of Antoine. We lost a genuine angel on earth. It is now time for rest good and faithful servant…Antoine’s legacy will live on throughhis seed; of his five children.
