Atty Maradona Belizaire affectionately known as “AceO” or “Jaysel” to some, was born on September 17, 1983, in Miami, Florida to Mariella Predelus and Geles Belizaire.
Atty grew up in the neighborhood of Little Haiti surrounded by his two sisters, loads of cousins and childhood friends. He was known to be caring and protective of those he loved. If anyone had an issue, he was among the first to defend their honor.
When he wasn’t outside hanging with family, you could find Atty glued to a television screen watching wrestling, movies, shows and music videos. He loved music. Music was peace for him. No matter what went wrong in life, he would put on a song and drown out the world. Even as an adult, he went everywhere with a pair of headphones to carry that peace with him.
Atty was a talented artist. His passion was drawing which led him to get his certification in carpentry. Growing up he had sketch books filled with beautiful images of people, characters and houses.
Who was Atty Belizaire?
Atty was a complex person. Some would say he was shy or reserved and others would say he was the life of the party. He had a magnetic personality. When he entered any room, he walked in as if he belonged there. Atty often left those rooms with a new friend. To know Atty is to have 1 or 2 memorable stories with him. His signature laugh was loud and a pleasure to hear for those who knew him.
So many parts made him who he was, but when it comes down to it, Atty as a person was…loving, charismatic, funny, respectful and found joy in the small things in life. He saw the world for what it was and lived life on his own terms. He lived in the moment and left an impression on your soul when you encountered him. Atty loved his children furiously. They brought him so much joy. He bragged about them to anyone who would hear about it.
Atty is a son, brother, father, boyfriend, nephew, cousin, friend, and coworker... He was loved, adored and accepted as he was by many. He took his final rest on February 6, 2024, after sufferinga tragic brain aneurysm.
He is survived by his sons Ziyaire and K'Sel Belizaire.
