With heavy hearts and cherished memories, we bid farewell to a remarkable man and soul, Augustin Cesar, who peacefully passed away on June 11th, 2024. His life was a tapestry of integrity, wisdom, respect, outstanding principles, kindness and unwavering love that touched everyone who met him, and who got to know him.
Augustin Cesar, also known as Tintin, was born on September 17th, 1930, to St Martin Cesar and Lumena Bien-Aime in Quartier Morin, Haiti and moved to Cap Haitian three months later. He was the second child of seven children. He lived a life filled with achievements, from his primary education at Freres de l’instruction Chretienne in Cap-Haitian to completing his education in Port-au-Prince. Back in his hometown, he continued to complete education with a Public Notary degree. Papa started to work as a teacher, then accounting at IDAI, and his favorite position was an Officier d’Etat Civil for 30 years where he aided and brought joy to the lives of many others.
He lived a life filled with adventures as he brought to this world 7 children and we can imagine how difficult and beautiful that was, but his greatest legacy lies in the warmth of his spirit and the depth of his compassion. As a devoted husband to Floraine, everyone knows he exemplified nothing but devotion and loyalty, their love being a beacon of strength for their family and friends.
He was a man of many passions, and skills from his ability to create art with paint or play beautiful melodies with his violin.
Family was at the heart of everything Papa did. He leaves behind a legacy of love, unity, and guiding principles that continue to resonate in the lives of his children, and 7 grandchildren. His gentle guidance with his grandchildren shaped the values of this new generation that will be passed down over and over.
He was a man of Class and high standards, he would take over an hour to properly brush his hair and teeth, making sure he had the best outfit on, accompanied by a watch and sunglasses of course. His presence was a comfort, his laughter a melody that brightened even in the dark days. As we mourn his passing, we celebrate a life well-lived- a life that touched so many hearts and left an incredible mark on the world. Though he may be physically absent, his spirit lives on, in the memories we hold dearly and the values he instilled in us.
Rest peacefully, dear Papa. Your legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire and guide us always. Your light will forever shine brightly in our hearts.
We know you must be happy to see again with your first born Jonase who unfortunately left us very early at 2 years old, tell her she is still missed and loved.
We all will keep you in our hearts till we meet again.
Floraine, Marjorie, Erline, Nyrva, Joanne, Emmanuel Auguste, Karl-Henri, your grandchildren, your nieces and nephews
