Carida Pluviose was born to Termora Cerisier and Misette Romain on June 8, 1922 in Fonds-des-Nègres, Haiti. She grew up surrounded by the affection of her 4 sisters and 2 brothers.
While still a teenager, she moved to Port-au-Prince to live with her aunt Veronique Pierre who adopted her as her own daughter. When Veronique and her husband Francois Dessalines, a soldier, went to Ouanaminthe for his new assignment in the Haitian army, Carida went along with them. There she met for the first time her future husband, Sargeant Franck Pluviose.
Carida and Franck went and settled in the city Grande-Rivière-du-Nord where they lived for over 30 years, there they provided a much-needed education for all of their children. Carida and Frank were very much in love and they were together for over fifty years. Carida was very devoted to her husband and the tender love they shared always was an inspiration to their many children and grandchildren.
Carida returned to Port-au-Prince for a few years until she came to the United States in 1984 to live with her husband. They remained together until her husband passed away in 1999.
After the passing of her husband, Carida moved to Pennsylvania with her daughter Micheline until 2016. That year she moved to Florida for her last years.
On Friday, May 24, she sustained a cerebrovascular accident and she was admitted to Florida Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale where she took her last breath on Saturday, June 1, at 8:05 p.m.
Carida was a hard worker, always looking for the well-being of everyone around her — family, friends and acquaintances. She would not stop at anything to make anyone happy. Ma tante, as she was called by everyone, found her calling in bringing joy and happiness to anyone she crossed paths with. Her family is left cherishing the love she tirelessly demonstrated to all and she will be dearly missed.
