Elana Desramaux

Elana Pierre Desramaux was born on September 3, 1959, in Gonaïves, Haiti. She was the second of ten children and completed her primary education in her hometown of Gonaïves.

In 1984, Elana moved from Gonaïves to Port-au-Prince to continue her education. Family always held a very special place in her heart and the love she gave so freely was returned by those who knew her. Elana was blessed with a generous and compassionate spirit and was always willing to extend a helping hand to others.

While her parents were living in the United States, Elana lovingly assumed a motherly role in the lives of her younger brothers and sisters. She cared for them with patience, affection and devotion, taking on responsibilities far beyond those normally expected of an older sister. This selfless commitment to her siblings reflected the woman she was throughout her life—someone who placed the needs of those she loved before her own.

In 1997, Elana immigrated to the United States, where she continued to build a life centered on faith, family and service to others. Her Christian faith was an essential part of who she was. She faithfully served her church as a deaconess and choir member, participated in the Pathfinder ministry and volunteered at the food bank. Whether through her church or within the community, Elana found great joy in serving others and making herself available wherever she was needed.

In 1999, Elana married Mr. Bertomier Desramaux. Their marriage became another beautiful chapter in a life already deeply rooted in love and devotion. Elana was a hardworking and dedicated woman who embraced her many roles with grace. She was a loving wife, a devoted sister, a caring aunt, a cherished cousin and a loyal friend. Her kindness, generosity and warm spirit touched countless lives.

In October 2025, Elana began facing significant health challenges. Yet, through those difficult months, she remained surrounded by the love of her family and the faith that had sustained her throughout her life. After a journey filled with blessings, joy, love, faith and service, Elana peacefully passed away at her home on August 22, 2026, at the age of 66.

Although her earthly journey has come to an end, the legacy Elana leaves behind will continue to live through the many people whose lives she touched. She will be remembered for her generous heart, her unwavering faith, her devotion to her family and her lifelong willingness to serve others. She gave of herself sincerely and generously and her memory will remain forever engraved in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Elana was truly an exceptional woman. It was a blessing to have her as our sister, our cousin, our aunt and as such an important part of our family. Her absence leaves a profound emptiness in our hearts, but her life has given us precious memories and an enduring example of love, faith, generosity and service.

She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved husband of 26 years, Mr. Bertomier Desramaux. She is also lovingly remembered by her sisters: Roselaine Pierre Henri, Evelyne Pierre, Venette Pierre, Marie Rose Marcelus and Carole Pierre; her brothers: Jacffet Pierre, Abel Pierre, and Obede Pierre. She also leaves behind her sisters-in-law: Justilia Justilien, Marie Justilien, Marie Pierre, Adline Pierre, and Carline Pierre; her brothers-in-law: Apolon Justilien, Willy Desramaux and Hanson Marcelus. Elana’s memory will also be cherished by many: Desramaux family, Justilien family, Pierre family, Dazulma family, Dorval family, Paul family, Louis family, Gerisma family, Maurice family, Jean family, Saint-Fleur family, Marcelus family, Pierrot family, Edouardlus family, Avescat family, Dumorne family, Dume family, nieces, nephews, relatives, godsons, goddaughters, close friends, church family and all those whose lives were touched by her kindness and generosity.

As we mourn Elana’s passing, we also thank God for the beautiful life she lived and the love, faith and kindness she shared with so many. Her legacy will live on through her family and in the hearts of all those whose lives she touched.

Elana loved deeply, served faithfully and gave generously. Though her earthly journey has ended, her love and memory will remain with us always.
