Emael Marcelin

With a heavy heart, we announce the passing of Emael Marcelin on November 2, 2023 after a hard-fought battle with Amyloidosis disease. He was a cherished husband, father, uncle, and friend. Born to Ismael Marcelin and Odelia Alcin in Miragoâne, Haiti on November 17, 1954, Emael was the youngest of 4 siblings. His large family also included an additional 21 half-brothers and sisters, embodying the strength of their shared bond.

In 1979, he left Haiti and made his new home in Saint Maarten, where he joined with his life partner, Rose Marie Saint Paul, in 1985. They began their family in Saint Maarten in 1987 with the birth of their firstborn, Nadine. In March 1990, they moved to Miami, Florida, in search of a better life. By August of the same year, they had settled in Orlando, Florida, and over time, welcomed their daughters, Kathleen and Joan, into their growing family.

Emael was a dedicated employee at the Walt Disney Dolphin Hotel from August 1990 until January 2022. Known for his 32 years of hard work and commitment, Emael was often recognized and rewarded for his outstanding performance. His affable nature and diligence earned him the love and respect of his coworkers and superiors alike. But it was his entrepreneurial spirit that truly defined him. Known affectionately as the “Mango Man,” Emael sold mangoes, avocados, and other produce, bringing a taste of Haiti to his community. There was nothing he couldn't sell.

Beyond his work, Emael had a deep passion for gardening, often tending to his plants with the same care and attention he gave to his family. A die-hard fan of wrestling and basketball, he never missed an Orlando Magic game, cheering for his favorite team with enthusiasm. Emael also loved music. He would often be found dancing whenever music was on, his movements a testament to his zest for life. Deeply rooted in his faith, Emael was very active in his church and served as a deacon, providing support to his congregation. His dedication to his faith was a beacon of light for those around him.

Emael's legacy is carried on by his loving wife, Rose Marie Saint Paul, their three daughters: Nadine Marcelin, Kathleen Williams, and Joan Farquharson; their four grandkids, Aniyah Biggs, Londyn Williams, Jayce Farquharson, and Alani Farquharson. His daughters were his pride and joy, and he instilled in them the same hardworking and genuine spirit that guided his life. He is also survived by his brother and sisters: Lumenerce Marcelin, Exzilia Marcelin, Denise Marcelin, his nieces and nephews, Patrick Castor, Frislorme Castor, Moliere Castor, Marthe-Daline Marcelin, Esiliene Marcelin, Roseline Marcelin, Claudette Thovard, Jr. Ronald Thovard, Marie-Carline Thovard, Johny Marcelin, Jilmene Jourdain, Homere Jourdain, Charpin Marcelin, Dawilna Bernard, Kesna Bernard, Rotary Marcelin, Charlin Marcelin, Ridalgo Marcelin, Christiana Marcelin, Diovany Marcelin, Silta Marcelin, Pierre Richard Mondelice, Chantal Mondelice, Jean Marc Mondelice, Michael Mondelice, Jordina Mondelice, Jose Marcelin and Melienne Marcelin. Emael leaves behind countless family members and close friends, including Malida Saint Paul, Lessinor Hippolyte, Marie Altha Hippolyte, Tatiana Hippolyte, Kersandre Hippolyte, Kersy Hippolyte, and Gernite Dormevil.

Emael's journey from Haiti to Florida is a testament to his courage, resilience, and unwavering dedication to providing a better life for his family. He will be remembered for his warm heart, infectious laughter, and boundless love for his family and friends.

As we mourn the loss of Emael, we also celebrate the remarkable life he led and cherish the memories we shared with him. His love for God, gardening, sports, and music enriched the lives of those around him and left an indelible mark. May his soul rest in peace, and his spirit continue to inspire us all.
