Gislaine Charles

November 6, 1932 — January 4, 2024

Gislaine Charles

Gislaine Charles was born on November 6, 1932 in Jacmel, Haiti to the late Maurice Goose and DalilaCharles. She was a strong woman. While in Haiti, she worked as a cook and manager at a restaurant in Port-Au-Prince for over 30 years. While in Port-Au-Prince, she met the love of her life Fritz Jeanty and gave birth to seven (7) children. She was the rock of her family. She worked diligently to take care of all her children.

In 1984 she migrated to Miami, Florida in search of a better life. While living in Miami, Gislaine worked at Samson Restaurant for over 8 years. She was a hard working woman who was always looking for opportunities to grow. As a result, she relocated to Immokalee, FL and became a farm worker. She was farm worker for over 10 years, traveling back-and-forth from Immokalee to Miami. Being the hard worker that she was, She continued to work tirelessly until her health started declining.

Sadly, after many years of failing health, Gislaine went home to be with the Lord on January 04, 2024. We lost a faithful servant, who was a mother, grandmother, great-grand mother, and friend to many others. She will always be missed and her memory will remain deep down our hearts. We pray that her soul will rest in peace.

She leaves to cherish her memories: Daughter Marie J. Therlonge (Joseph); Son Jean Robert Jeanty (Edith); 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
