Jean Christolin, affectionately known as Lyssode, was born on November 9, 1949, in Limbe, Haiti. He was the beloved son of the late Brice Christolin and Ursule Joseph.
In pursuit of a better life, Jean emigrated to the United States, where he worked tirelessly to provide for his family and build a meaningful future. Always eager to grow, he attended trade school to sharpen his skills, reflecting his determination to adapt, improve, and embrace every opportunity.
A man of deep faith, Jean was a devoted Christian and a proud Deacon. His charismatic presence could brighten any room. People were drawn to his kindness, wisdom, and ability to make life feel a little lighter.
On August 17, 2023, Jean endured the heartbreaking loss of his wife of more than 40 years, Yanick Christolin. Despite his grief, he carried on with courage, anchored by the love of his only child, his devoted daughter, Geraldine Christolin—his pride and joy.
Jean leaves behind his cherished daughter, Geraldine Christolin, and his siblings: Jean Raphael Christolin, Robert Christolin, Marie Claude Christolin, Marie Béby Christolin, Micheline Christolin, Firmante Christolin Fleuricourt, and Pierre Jacques Christolin.
He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family, including Benlux, Ginelle, Wilfix, Guifaly, Chris, Jessica, Romy, Karl Dedley, Danelle, Hantz Garoute, Anne Sherley, and Christelle, as well as his dear aunt Merite Toussaint, and numerous great nieces and nephews who will forever hold him in their hearts.
He will also be fondly remembered by his in-laws: his mother-in-law: Mrs. Pierre Tilus, his sisters and brothers-in-law, Nicole Tilus, Queteline Profil, Wilson Profil, Marc and Tracy Pierre, Marie Junie Celus, Rose Marie Christolin, and Elsie Christolin.Jean’s life was marked by faith, resilience, and unwavering love for his family. He will be remembered not only for his hard work and devotion but also for the joy and light he brought into the lives of everyone who knew him.He now joins his beloved wife Yanick, his brother Wilfrid Christolin, and his parents Brice and Ursule in eternal rest.
