Jean Tadot

With profound sadness and heartfelt gratitude for a life well-lived, we celebrate the life of Jean Tadot, (also known as Louis Jean or Jean Jean for those who were closest to him), a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. Jean’s life was a testament to faith, perseverance, hard work, and unwavering love for his family.

Jean was born on June 22, 1953, in Saint-Louis-du-Nord, Haiti, to Saint Thérèse Tadot and Objelus Jean. He spent his early years in Saint-Louis-du-Nord, where he completed his primary and secondary education. The values of family, community, and determination that shaped his character remained with him throughout his life.

A Journey of Hope and Opportunity

In pursuit of a brighter future, Jean left Haiti in 1978 and began a new chapter in Nassau, Bahamas. In 1980, he immigrated to the United States, settling first in Miami, Florida, and later making Orlando, Florida, his home for many years.

A Devoted Husband and Loving Father

Jean was united in marriage to his beloved wife, Odya Garcon Tadot. Together, they built a life founded on love, commitment, and dedication to each other. He was the proud father of Adeleine Tadot Orelhomme and Ulrick Tadot, and a cherished father-in-law to Dius Orelhomme. Though miles often separated them, Jean’s love and devotion to his children never wavered. They remained a source of great pride and joy throughout his life.

A Proud Grandfather

Jean was blessed with numerous grandchildren including: Flordina Mirca Orelhomme, Anderson Orelhomme, Mike Senley Orelhomme, Lordina Tadot, Louisen Tadot, Nico Tadot, Sainsin Tadot, and Chiquen Tadot. He treasured every opportunity to share his love, wisdom, and encouragement with them. The memories they created together will remain forever in their hearts.

A Beloved Brother and Family Man

Jean was deeply devoted to his family. He is survived by his brother, Legrand Jean, and his sister, Marise Hyacinthe, (residing in Haiti are sisters - Erzulia Jean, Gina Noel Jean, and Anita Jean). He cherished the bonds he shared with his siblings and extended family as he remained closely connected to them throughout his life.

Jean leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews, including Nieces: Minela Ferrier Petit-Homme, Marline Ferrier Jean-Louis, Fedna Ferrier, Itanne Ferrier, Sandy Hyacinthe, Sandya Hyacinthe, Stéphane Annette Jean, Cassandre Amelia Jean, Mimose Jean, and Denise Jean. Nephews: Lickson Ferrier, Davilson Ferrier, Lickner Jean, Yvener Jean, Ilerer Jean, and Erry Jean.

In addition, he leaves behind numerous cousins, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, extended relatives, and dear friends. The Families - Joseph, Tadot, Jean, Ferrier, Hyacinthe, Julsaint, Petit-Homme, Pierre, Ductan, Jeudi, Garcon, Siméon, Marcellon, and Josaphat will forever cherish his memory.

A Life Well Lived to the end of a journey

Jean Tadot’s life was marked by courage, determination, and perseverance. From his humble beginnings in Saint-Louis-du-Nord, Haiti, to his journeys through Nassau, Miami, and Orlando, he built a life rich with experiences, meaningful relationships, and lasting memories. Jean took great pride in his work and became known for his dedication during his years at Walt Disney World. He enjoyed spending time walking throughout the Disney property, finding joy, peace, and fulfillment in the place that became such a meaningful part of his life. He continued to cherish these moments until his retirement.

Following an illness where he spent approximately 3 weeks in the hospital, Jean passed away on August 10, 2026. Though his earthly journey has come to an end, his legacy lives on through his wife, children, grandchildren, siblings, families and friends.

His kindness, generosity, and love touched the lives of many and left an enduring impact on all who knew him.
