Jean Wilkens Louis, affectionately known by many as “Komandan Louis,” was a beloved son, brother, father, cousin, and friend. Born and raised in Haiti, Jean Wilkens committed his life to protecting and serving his community. As a dedicated police officer in Haiti, he earned the respect and admiration of his peers and those he served, always standing for justice, peace, and the safety of others.
His strength, discipline, and bravery were matched only by his kindness and humility. Jean Wilkens was not only a man in uniform—he was a man of heart. His warm personality, sense of humor, and deep compassion left an everlasting impression on everyone who crossed his path.
Later in life, Jean Wilkens moved to the United States in search of greater opportunities and a better life for his family. Despite being far from his homeland, he carried Haiti in his heart and remained deeply connected to his roots and loved ones.
He was a proud father to his children—Lutchy (Kenny), Victoria, Nounedgie, Kevins, Bianca, and Tracey Louis; his grandson: Josiah—whom he cherished deeply. Jean Wilkens was also a loving son of Reginna and Fristner. A loving brother to Edelle, Jean Donan, Fricot, Margode, Jean Luc, Marie Bethlie, Jean Letch, and Marie Gina. He held a special place in the hearts of his extended family, including nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and countless cousins.
May his soul rest in eternal peace.
