Lune “Coleman” Benjamin, was born on December 24, 1969 in Cote- De- Fer Anse- a Foleur Haiti. He was the 9th child out 12 children from Merceide Bien-Aime and Oral Benjamin. He enjoyed his childhood years playing soccer and hanging out with his friends. He attended high school in Notre dame de Fatima in Port-de-paix where he landed his first job as assistant coach at Notre dame du Loerd in Port-de-paix where he developed his core values integrity, kindness and courage. In 1988 he left Port-de-paix and move to St. Louis de Nord where he worked as a librarian at La Mennais St. Louis du Nord. Thenlater met his soulmate, Paulette Fleurimond at the tender age of 19. The young couple soon decided to extend their family by having seven children Merlinda, Clifton, Lukenson, Dina, Colson, Lorenda and Joshua. He left Haiti in June 1994 to pursuit a better living opportunity for his family. He was a hard-working man that worked several jobs to support his family. In addition to his family, he was deeply devoted into church where he held the position as a deacon of the church. On December 25, 1999 he solidified his union to his wife Paulette by holy matrimony. He always had one goal in mind, to endlessly love and provide for his wife, children and family by any means necessary. Later on, Coleman furthered his education at Advanced Technology Institute where he obtained his associated degree in Air conditioning maintaining a 4.0 grade point average. In his spare of time, he enjoyed talking on the phone, cooking blè and hot dogs, watching basketball criticizing the players while drinking his favorite energy drink rock star. He, also enjoyed spending time with his grandkids teaching them how to speak creole and learning how to play the piano.
Coleman was a funny, loving, charismatic, and caring person. He was called home on March 11, 2023.He leaves behind his loving wife of over 34 years Paulette Benjamin, his sister Sheila Benjamin. His mother Merceide Bien-Aime. His aunts: Melina Joseph and Ann Benjamin, His uncles: Tales Bien- Aime, Flossy Bien- Aime, and Harold Benjamin. His cousins: Begin Anestin, Alex Bien- Aime, Claude Adelson, Marie Love Benjamin, Emelda Bien-Aime and Mirlenda Daves. He leaves behind his loving children Merlinda, Clifton, Lukenson, Dina, Colson, Lorenda and Joshua. He also leaves behind his precious grandchildren: Jeremiah, Serenity, Elijah, Daniel, Loriah, Colbee, and Braylen.
