Marie Elda Simon

Marie Elda Simon was born in Les Cayes, Haiti on April 17, 1941. The daughter of the late Pierre Milien Malette and Dieuvela Malbranche Malette. She attended Les Soeurs Catholique Francaises de Torbek and graduated in 1959. She was passionate about children and was a childcare specialist for many years. She also was a dietician and designed clothes. She married her sweetheart Joseph Junot Simon on June 20, 1963. They had a loving marriage and were together for 60 years. Marie and her husband were blessed with five wonderful children.

Marie, a devoted prayer warrior, had Christ at the center of her life. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist church for many years. She served as a head deaconess, sang alto in the choir and was the president of Bon Samaritan, an organization that helps the poor and disadvantaged in Haiti.

Her faith and her family were everything to her. She was always there for her family and her church and made all feel welcome and loved. Our beloved, beautiful, forever angel.

Marie Elda Simon, age 83, passed away on Sunday May 12th, 2024, surrounded by loving family.

She leaves her children, whom she prayed for daily, Marthe Murette Jean-Marie RN, (her husband Marriot), Elmire Georges (her husband Pierre), Jean Edson Simon (his wife Madelaine), Marie Junotte Simon-Crowell (her husband Michael), Jim Junot Simon (his wife Nathalie), her grandchildren, who brought her pride and joy, Randy Alexis MBA, Risk Officer Analyst (his wife Brittany), Paul Jean-Marie US Navy Officer Submarine Vet., Bioethicist, Dr. Elizabeth Jean-Marie M.D. MPH, Adoniah Simon MSW, Hajadian Simon, Nathaniel Junot Simon, Jahnaya Natarah Simon and her great grandchildren Darius and Skylar Alexis. She also leaves many dear nieces and nephews, three sisters and five brothers, with a special mention of her close sister Micheline Malbranche.
