Michelet Similien

On July 16, 1952, in Petite Bourg-De-Borgne, Lavertie Timothee and Oldsaintville Similien joyfully welcomed a new addition to their family: Michelet Similien. He was their fourth child, in a family of seven. Throughout his years Michelet grew fond of a particular young lady named Silianie Altidor and In 1976 he wedded his beloved sweetheart. Their union brought two beautiful children into their loving home, a girl named Guilerne and boy named Guerby. Michelet and Silianie's family was expanding and God would gift them with another child, but not before his migration to the United States of America.

Seeking a better life, Michelet packed his bags and embarked on a journey that would rewrite his life forever. Upon his arrival, he was welcomed by friends and family who had made the same grueling voyage across the unsettling seas. In 1986, God forever faithful, granted a third Child to Silianie and Michelet’s union. Michelet dedicated an immense amount of effort working in several hotels and restaurants, primarily in the hospitality industry, eventually landing a job at the world-renowned Breaker's Hotel on Palm Beach Island. His unwavering work ethic and light humor graced the prestigious Breaker’s Hotel for over a decade.

In the year of 2009, Michelet fell victim to a massive stroke rendering him partially paralyzed and disabled. Despite the odds, Michelet pushed forward and, with the help of his family he continued to live at home until his health declined. In 2015, Michelet was admitted to a nursing facility, where he spent the remainder of his days. On December 5, 2023, Michelet succumbed to his illness, leaving behind a legacy of love and strength.

He survived by his wife Silianie Altidor; Children: Techlet, Guilerne, Guerby, Pouchon, Smith, Jean Michel, Sylvie, and Dalila; Brothers: Samson Similien and Francisco Similien; Sisters: Iviani Joseph, Elizabeth Similien, Ariane Similien, and Laverlia Bereus; Grandchildren: Ahmad, Naesha, Saniya, Leon, Jermaine, and more grandchildren who live in Haiti; Nieces and Nephews: Luckenson Leonord, William Similien, Lubin Similien, Yves Similien, Anadine Silverin, Carline Silverin, Linda Joseph, Nelda Joseph, Bensin Joseph, Stephanie Altidor, Jahmir Gedeon, Matias Bereus, Wilker Bereus, TidadaBereus, AnnetteSimilien, Rico Similien, Franzy Similien, Geraldine Similien, Meramise Bereus, Aniece Bereus, Rosenelda Bereus, Fritzner Bereus, Wesler Bereus, and Mislen Bereus, Marjorie Just, Tasha Similien, Sadrac Similien, and Lucy Similien; Sisters-in-law: Pierrette Similien, Gina Similien, and Janet Similien; Brothers-in-law: Nelson Joseph and Phylome Bereus.
