Miriam Colon-Diaz

Miriam Colon-Diaz was born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, on April 4th, 1940, to her parents Carmen Diaz and Marcelino Colon.    She later moved to Brooklyn NY at the age of 18.   At the age of 22, she got married to Hector M. Davila. She worked as a floor woman in a factory until 1977 and then moved back to Puerto Rico where she became a housewife for several years. In August of 1981, she moved back to Bronx, New York, where she enjoyed helping people in need. She had a career at Lincoln Hospital in the Bronx NY as a Home Health care aide which she enjoyed for almost 40 years until she retired.  Miriam passed away peacefully on June 13th, 2024, at the Luther Towers Hospice Center in Orlando, Florida

Miriam is survived by a beautiful family of three children Jacqueline Davila, Ivan M Davila and Hector Davila. Three siblings; Esther Colon, Arleth Molina and Marcelino Molina. Four grandchildren: Jose I. Torres, Michael Davila, Addison Davila and Ivan Davila Jr.  5 great grandchildren: Ivan Torres, Madilyn Torres, Lukis Torres, Michael Joel Davila, Isaiah M. Davila, and 1 great- great grandchild Ivy Torres.
