Resilia Florvil was born on December 22, 1922, in Gran Ville Port-de-Paix, Haiti. She was the daughter of Jele Florvil and Norcine Verdinoir. From the very beginning of her life, Resilia touched countless people with her encouraging words and comforting spirit. Her kindness, strength, and faith illuminated all those around her. With her lively and bold spirit, Resilia brought joy and laughter wherever she went.
A tireless worker, Resilia dedicated much of her life to farming and business, often working alongside her daughters. She raised and cared for many children as if they were her own. During the 1980s, she frequently traveled between Haiti and the United States to visit her husband and relatives. After the passing of her beloved husband, Brenor Saintulien, Resilia settled permanently in the United States in 1977. Surrounded by her family, she created lasting memories filled with laughter, stories, and unconditional love. She was baptized in the early 2000s and dedicated her life to the Lord.
Now that her earthly journey has come to an end, her legacy of warmth, strength, and compassion continues to shine through all those she touched. She is survived by her beloved children – Celestin, Nazilia, Menthor, Bernadin, and Rosanna – as well as her cherished grandchildren: Philomene, Merclien, Fenel, Maude, Yolande, Johnathen, Benjamin, Kevin, Ferel, Jeremy, Catherine, Almour (Kensey), Nevaeh, and Nessiah. She is also missed by her great-grandchildren – Vanessa, Nathan, Rachelle, Alesia, Sebastin, Isiah, Elijah, Nayla, Amari, and Malia – as well as three great-great-grandchildren, and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, and longtime friends.
Resilia is now reunited in peace with her beloved husband, Brenor. Her light and love continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Her time among us has not truly ended: it is only the beginning of her eternal legacy.
