Rosalia Dorival

Rosalia Dorival was born to Celissa and Vercina St. Louis in La Pointe, Haiti on October 15, 1950. In August of 1979 she left Haiti in search for a better life with her husband Fontane Dorival. She resided in Miami where she spent the next 45 years.

Rosalia was a hard worker in all walks of her life she embodied Proverbs 31:16, which reads “ She surveys a field and acquires it; from her own resources, she plants a vineyard. She works energetically; her arms are powerful.” She was truly a women of God, who loved to pray and worship. Rosalia was an active member at the Bethany Baptist Church of Miami where she happily served and was a member of ASTEBB and Group Jeunede Priye. She found joy in praying for all those around herespecially for her children.  Rosalia took advantage of every opportunity to spend time in the presence of God.

Rosalia loved Christian country music and enjoyed spending time with her family and grandkids. Rosalia was the life of the party and loved to dance. If you knew Rosalia you knew she was a hustler by heart for her grandkids and was willing to give them everything she had.  A virtuous woman can come off as cliché being that she was an active and devoted member of the church for so long, but Rosalia had no problems praying without ceasing. Assuring that all she needed was a communication line with her Lord and Savior and everything else would fall in line. Her love of prayer was very apparent even on her final days as she spent every moment she could praying.

Rosalia leaves behind her husband Fontane Dorival, four sisters Selimene St. Louis,Roselene St. Louis (Deceased), Anelie St. Louis (Deceased), Carola Petit-Homme (Deceased), and Marie St. Louis and one brother Clavius Hilaire St. Louis.

She leaves behind four children Rose Bassette and husband Stevenson Bassette, Rozbel Dorival and wife Myriam Dorival, Raymen Dorival and wife Andrea Dorival, Elmita Charite and husband Lidson Charite; Rosalia also leaves behind 8 grandkids: Josiah Dorival, Quincy Dorival, Jabari Dorival, Anaiah Bassette, Zephaniah Bassette, Jermaine Dorival, Aaron Dorival, Uriah Bassette. Rosalia also leaves a countless amount of extended family members.

Happy is she who believed that the Lord would fulfill the promises he made to her Luke 1:45.
