“There is something stronger than death, it is the presence of the absent, in the memory of the living”. We are here to present: a father, a brother, a friend, a comrade, an advisor, a soldier, a responsible person, as well as a phenomenal man. To his children, he was the most handsome dad in the world. Mr. Clemant, who was filled with happiness and laughter, lies in front of us this morning.

On January 26, 1945, Lucienne Pierre and  Exilien Clement gave birth to their 3rd son out of Nine children.  In 1969, He married a beautiful woman named Emilia Oricin. After marriage, they both moved to Jamel where they both established themselves and had seven kids. Life was never easy, but Sainbonheur was dedicated to striving for a better life for his family. He was always  strong and hardworking.

In 1990, Sainbonheur decided to move to Port-au-Prince to seek a better life for his family. He fought day and night so that his kids could live a good life and have a good education. He believed God would make away for his family.

In 2006, Clemant came to the US to live with his daughter,

Exumene. From there, he worked very hard to provide for his kids in Haiti. Clemant was known for his ability to never give up, to always strive for better and lastly the ability to put a smile and laughter on everyone’s face. Even while his daughter and son-in-law worked to support him, he always found something to do because he was a very prideful and independent man.

Grandpa could easily be characterized as a strong, loving, and resilient young man who faced and endured significant challenges. Despite the pain and tears of losing his wife and his second son in the year of 2021, he still remained faithful to God and stayed in prayer for God to open a door for his family.

He loved to help everyone. He was always supportive to everyone regardless of if he knew the person or not. Grandpa left a great generation to continue his good work. Grandpapa loved life and grandpa was truly loved as well.

Grandpapa, you are not here anymore. The memories we have will never be erased from our hearts. You are a father and Grandpapa; a model that many people should have. You are gone physically but you will never be forgotten as you will always remain in our hearts.

Today, Grandpa leaves us with tears, but he would want us to smile and laugh as if he was standing with us today. As a believer, we know it is not death; this isn’t a goodbye. You were a leader, a soldier, and a brave man. We will never stop loving you. May you rest in peace.

Sainbonheur Clemant passed away on May 15, 2024, at the Celebration Hospital. Leaving to mourn her passing are her children, Exumene C. Saint Cyr, Rosemilia Clement, Saint Rilla Clement, Ermiciance Clement, Rodrigue Clement.
