Serge "Kesnel" Acceus

Serge Acceus was born on February 14, 1958, in La Gonâve, Haiti, to Occeus Acceus and Marie Lucienne Pierre. He was raised in a Christian home alongside his siblings: Paul, Sadrac, Daniel, Isidor, Gesnel, Annacia, Christanie, Acilia, Oreste, Ozier, Immaculeuse, Soimene, Polisena (deceased), Edith (deceased), Marie Bieniese (deceased), Remercile (deceased) and Sauveur (deceased). He received his early education in La Gonâve and immigrated to the United States in 1981 in pursuit of a better life while continuing to care deeply for the family he left behind.

A hardworking, generous, loving and joyful man, Serge shared his life with his beloved wife, Guerda Aurelien. He was a cherished member of the Church of the Nazarene, where he and his family grew in their Christian walk. Serge was also a proud taxi driver who truly loved what he did. He enjoyed meeting new people, hearing their stories and making connections with those he encountered along the way. His warm smile, goofy sense of humor and welcoming personality made him memorable to many throughout the Orlando area. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and found his greatest joy in spending time with his family, lovingly caring for his children and grandchildren and making sure they always felt supported and protected.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Occeus Acceus and Marie Lucienne Pierre and five siblings. Serge leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Guerda Aurelien; children: Kerline, Mackenson, Farah, Claudia, Keisha, Sharma, Gaelle and Kelsey; his 11 grandchildren; his brothers and sisters; and several nieces and nephews. To his children and grandchildren, he was lovingly and affectionately known simply as “Daddy,” a name that reflected the special place he held in their hearts. Serge Acceus, 68, of Orlando, FL, passed away on August 24th at his home in Clermont, FL.

Serge will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, cherished grandfather, faithful Christian, dedicated taxi driver and loyal friend whose kindness, generosity, laughter and love touched countless lives. He had a way of making people feel welcomed and cared for and his goofy personality brought joy to those around him. His legacy of love, faith, family and kindness will continue to live on through his children, grandchildren, siblings, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Though his time with us seems short, the memories he created will remain forever. Daddy’s love, laughter and joyful spirit will never be forgotten.
