Clemence Alce Obituary

Born in Port-de-Paix, a commune and the capital of the Nord-Ouest department of Haiti on the Atlantic coast on December 15, 1947, Clemence Virginia Dormeus Alce began her journey through life.

At the tender age of 22, affectionately known as “Veag” to her family and friends, Clemence had her sights set on America, leaving behind family, while in search of new adventures within her newfound womanhood. With an adventurous spirit, she found herself in Nassau, Bahamas with her loving aunt, the late Clemelie Penha.

Although an introvert, Clemence’s welcoming smile garnered the attention of one handsome man, a Mr. Francus Alce, who would become her husband of 37 years, up until the time of death. The love bug bit Veag twice, as she experienced love with Mr. Henry Sejour and welcomed her first child, Hendry Mitchell in 1976, and soon thereafter, welcomed her first daughter, Henriette Christine Mitchell in 1977. As her life progressed as a young mother, Clemence could not be prepared for what was soon to come. After relocating stateside to Miami, Florida, Henry Sr and Clemence said their goodbyes, while continuing to coparent. While in the throws of motherhood and adjusting to life in Miami, Florida a young widow began pursuing the beautiful Veag. With two young children of his own, Cerne and Ciliny Alce, the two chose to begin a new life together as a blended family. Francis and Clemence was blessed with their last son, Kerly Alce, hence completing their tribe of the Alce family.

The family made Orlando home and enjoyed many years in the central Florida region. Clemence enjoyed entrepreneurial ventures

and raising her family in the Christian faith. An avid child of God, she enjoyed reading and listening to scripture, favoring Psalm 23.
