Daniel Desir Obituary

Daniel Lunique Desir was born on May 30th, 1951, in the rural section of Bizoton -Commune of Carrefour, Haiti- from Demevil Desir and Rosila Virgile. He was the fourth of seven children.Daniel completed his primary school at: Ecole Nationale Mixte of Thorland. He was raised in a Christian family, and he accepted Christ early in his life. He was very fervent and dynamic in church activities at Sinai Seventh-day Adventist church in Diquini.  He started working at a very young age at the Adventist hospital of Diquini and he got transferred to the packaging department, mostly known as Emballage de Diquini.

He met the love of his life, Saintana Jean while serving the Lord and later, they got married on May 31st, 1983. From that union, Daniel became the proud father of Jean Daniel, Lionel, and Marie Danie, three lovely children to whom he dedicated his entire life, besides God and his wife.  Daniel decided to travel to the United States in August 1989 in search of a better life. He worked arduously while living in the United States to take care of himself and his family in Haiti. He worked harder and harder, and after 16 years the family reunited in the United States.  He continued to be a lovely father to his children, a charming and devoted husband to his wife. He was always a reliable person and usually makes time for friends, church members and extended family members, co-workers… he cared about everyone.

He liked to crack jokes to his dear friends when they all got together.  Unfortunately, his life has cut short on February 21st, 2024, after a long and hard battle with a heart condition. He expired on that mentioned day due to a terrible heart attack while sleeping.  He left behind to mourn him: His lovely wife Saintana Jean Désir, His three children Jean Daniel and wife, Lionel and wife Rachel Charlot, and Marie Danie and husband Abnex Augustin; His grandchildren Ally, Ayden, Liam Alexander, Elijah King, Ethan Benjamin, His only remaining brother Simon Lunique Désir and his two sisters Marie Denise Désir and Marie Roseline Désir, His sister-in-law Adrienne Désir and her daughter Gilberth Pethière Nertilus, His nephews and nieces Jean Paul Mathieu, Samuel, Lunique, Cherline, Johanne, and Moïse Mathieu.

Daniel will be dearly missed amongst family members, friends, the members of his church: Eden for more than 30 years, and his neighbors.

May he rest from his labors and may also his works follow him as he is waiting to meet the Lord at His glorious return to go to heaven. Deepest sympathies to us all! Thank you.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
