Dieudonne Cella Obituary

Mrs. Dieudonne Cella was born to Emily Innocent and Saint Louis Escarment in Saint Louis Du Nord, Haiti on August 6th, 1934. She did not attend primary nor secondary education during her time on earth. However, she was a very respectful person and knew how to get along with everyone that surrounded her.

She did not live a happy life during her time on earth.  She has lost both of her parents at a very young age.  She was raised by her grandmother " Frazie Noel".  At the age of 18, she met her boyfriend Eliezer which will later became her husband.  During the same year, she became ill and very ill.  In Spite of that, Eliezer stood by her side, even though they were not married yet.  Hence she became convalescent, she married Eliezer whom she approximately 63 years with besides and another 7 years dating.  From that union, she gave birth to five (5) children: Ermanie, Antione, Dieufaite, Eustaches, and Louis. Right after Louis's birth when he was turning 3 years old, she fell ill for quite a longtime.  Her husband spent every penny that he earned trying to save her life.  In spite of going to doctors, she remained sick until a day one of her husband's friend by the name of "Osmane" that was a "Voyeur" told him to accept God as her personal savior, including the entire family. From there, the unthinkable happened, she returned back on her feet, regained her strength and started doing  small business which at home we call "Commerce". She was a woman of "Great Charisma".  When she did not know your name, she will call you "Tchou;Tchou".  She was very active in church and would wake up very early in the morning to go to cohort.  At first, she attended Mitspa Church in Saint Louis Du Nord, then came " La Chambre Haute''.  She was active in both churches at the same time because she had a lot of zeal for the Lord.

She has spent a great deal of her time living in her home country" Haiti" which she cherished so much. She never wanted to be buried in a foreign country.  Due to the current insecurity in Haiti, her closest family decided that it was unsafe to travel and bury her at home (Haiti).   She had never dreamt a day to come and live in the U.S.  Meanwhile, when you have children you never say never.  After all her children migrated to the U.S., they filed for their parents for residency which is the usual process.  Luckily, in February 1994 she was given to privilege to come and visited the U.S. Where there is life, there is hope. It was one of the greatest days for our family when she landed at J.F. Kennedy Airport, in N.Y.  Ever since, she and her husband would travel back and forth; always together.  During her passage in the US she had the privilege to attend Emmanuel Baptist Church and Fraternity Baptist Church.

On April 19, 2023 Dieudonne Cella transitioned to be with the Lord. May she rest in peace.
