Leroy Belonce Obituary

Leroy Belonce was born in Bas-Limbe on January 6, 1961 to Paulina Myrtil and Tercius Belonce. He had fond memories of being born and raised in Haiti with his sisters Tercina, Fanies, Mavilia and brothers Vilbrun, and Daniel. He completed his primary studies at Ecole Notre du Mont Carmel, Bas Limbe. In searching for a better life, he eventually moved to Bahamas then to Florida in the 1980’s.

Leroy was known to his family and friends as a very personal, private, honest, respected, and cautious man. Leroy was so cautious that he chose to live his life as a single man. Friends and family often wondered if Leroy had ever been stopped by a police or got in trouble with the law. Leroy had a long career as a taxi driver.

Leroy was a hard working man. He worked various jobs before making a career as a taxi driver. Leroy was a man of nature.

Farming was Leroy’s first love, politics was his second. He spent most of his spare time gardening. His time was occupied by harvesting and planting different fruits and crops in his back and front yard. He was pretty much preoccupied by the politics of his mother land, Haiti. He was bothered by the corruption of the government and insecurity that paralyzed the country.

Leroy was an extremely strong man, who was loved by many, and you could always depend on for a smile. He was also known for being very old fashioned. He valued and lived according to the Haitian culture.

Leroy is survived by his loving father Tercius, his brothers: Vilbrun, Daniel, Spy, Rev Fritzner, Dr Noly Fritz; and his sisters: Fanies, Mavilia, Dr Tercina J.; and sisters-in-law: Roseline and Yvone, brothers-in-law: Olias Dorisca and Wendy Joseph.
