Lorenzo McDonald was born in Paynes Bay St. James, Barbados to Milton and Cecilia Goddard. He attended St. John Baptist School and he worked on building boats which started his carpentry career for many years in Barbados. After migrating to the United States on November 14th, 1981 he joined the Carpenter Workers Union in New York. In 1991 he relocated to Orlando, Fl where he worked for Disney World until his retirement.
In the Year 2000 he united in marriage to Avondo Evadney Sobers where they both attended Mission of Hope Worship Center. There he utilized his carpenter skills in the aiding of remodeling the church building. He also became an usher and a member of the Men’s Fellowship Choir under the leadership of Rev. A. Wright. In 2015 he attended Calvary Adventist Church until the pandemic took place. Lorenzo also known as Brother Nick loved traveling to other islands in the West Indies to watch his favorite game of Cricket. No matter where the matches were being played or where he was physically located he would be there to watch the matches for many hours.
Lorenzo was 87 years of age when he died on November 23rd, 2021. Lorenzo is survived by his devoted wife of 21 years Evadney Goddard, his children Ian Phillips, Carleen Bourne, and Tanya Sobers. His Daugher in Law Sherry Ann Phillips and Son in Law Karl Bourne Sr. His Grandchildren Tricia Fagan, Ann-Marie Clifford, Kerry Fagan, Karl Bourne Jr, Shermar Phillips and Tyler Prescott. His Great- Grand Children Trinity Fletcher, Kogi Clifford, Rodney Fletcher Jr, and Micah Fletcher. He will leave behind Niece Lolita, Nephew Shawn, Rickey and many more.
