Mercenieuse Petithomme Exantus Obituary

Mercenieuse Petithomme Exantus was born on February 2, 1964 to the parents of Lormilus Petithomme & Silmise Annacrayon Liberal in Jean Macoute Bombardopolis, Haiti. “Merce” as she was tenderly called by her friends and family, completed her primary and secondary schooling in Haiti. She went on to get her college education at Baptist Cobaha Des Gonaives, then she obtained her Culinary Arts degree at Cosomart in Pot-Au-Prince, Haiti. She was an accomplished woman who demonstrated passion, dedication, and commitment for the arts of cuisine, cooking and baking.

Mercenieuse was a long time member of Maranatha Baptist Church in Jean Macoute, Beraca Baptist Church of Gonaives and Bon Berger Church of Port-au-Prince. She was also a member of the Divine Messenger’s. Mercenieuse was a woman of God and loved to preach the gospel wherever she went. On December 16, 1988 Mercenieuse pledged her love in Holy matrimony to Steve Daniel Exantus. They spent 35 long years together and were blessed with four amazing children: Caleb, Jennifer, Jennings and Jordan.

In September 1995 Mercenieus migrated to the United States. She was a hardworking woman, she worked as a caregiver for several years, and continued her passion in cake decorating for many decades throughout her life. She was a devoted Pastor’s wife and an active member in the life of the church at First Bible Evangelical Church working with many ministry efforts, where she was also the President of the Women’s Group Ministry.

It was clear that Mercenieus had a genuine love for people. She was a nurturing woman. She was a supportive, caring and loving wife, daughter, mother, sister, aunt, cousin, grandmother and friend and these endearing traits served her well throughout her life. Her life was a living example of her favorite Bible verse, Ephesians 4:32 — “And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.”

On March 10, 2023 Mercenieuse Petithomme Exantus was called home to be with her heavenly father.
