Roginal Lafortune

Roginal Lafortune was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti on August 26, 1969, to the union of Pastor Louis Andrenord and Nicole Charles Lafortune. He did his primary education at Centre Pedagogique de Carrefour and secondary studies at College de Côte Plage and Frère Adrien du Sacré Coeur. In April 1990, Roginal and his three sisters traveled to the states to live with their mother in New Jersey. In August 1992, the whole family traveled to Florida where they have stayed until now. After the death of his first son, Gregory Lafortune in January 2003, and his wife Geraldine Lafortune in January 2004, Roginal’s health was never the same. He was always complaining about losing strength on the left side of his body. In 2015, he was diagnosed with muscle dystrophy, which hindered him from going anywhere even to attend church. However, his faith in the Lord was strong. He would watch all the services on Youtube. Most of his friends never knew about his health conditions until his death. In mid-December, Roginal was hospitalized and never knew that he would not return home.

Roginal was a very loving person. He would always make sure that he kept in contact with his friends. Despite everything going on in his life, he would laugh and make you laugh. He had been in a coma for a few weeks. Once he was able to speak, he asked for his phone and started to call all his friends. Roginal was a skilled piano player, a music lover, and a producer.

On Wednesday March 20, 2024, Roginal departed this life at age 54. He is survived by his wife Naomie Lafortune, his sons Stephan, Mardochée, and daughter Roginey Lafortune, his mother Nicole Dorlean, his sisters Guerline (Ronald) Saint Juste, Edwine (Fanest) Bonheur, Marie Samuelle Lafortune, and Jasmine Dorlean, his aunts and uncles Rosita and (Clement) Laguerre, Marie Gertrude and Sauveur Gelin, Saint Louis Lafortune , Joanicia Lafortune, his nieces and nephews Taneesha (Enel) Augustin, Kimberly Saint Juste, Brandon Lorins, Piertrisha Lorins, Jaden Castor, Jasmyne Castor, Vanessa Meritil, Fabiola Meritil, Londyn Lorins, Naylanni AugusƟn, his cousins Webert Charles and family, Edwidge Charles and family, Bigner (Manoucheca) Laguerre and family, Henock (Tatiana) Laguerre and family, Junior Richard Laguerre and family,Ricardo (Erlande) Laguerre and family, Emmanuel (Miracia) Laguerre and family, Dimitry (Elizabeth) Laguerre and family, Bahinah Daniel, Yves (Betirine) Daniel, Sadorah Daniel, Sybile Daniel, Evens Daniel (D’jouly), Magalie Daniel and family, Yvena Gelin, Ruth Gelin, Angelot Elvius, Angeline Elvius, Jesula Elvius, Adenslot Borgella, Gedenslot Borgella, Mireille Simeon, Sylvie Simeon, Andrena Simeon, Carmiola Derival Camilove Derival, Don-Peter Derival, Fania Lafortune, Saintania Lafortune and family, and many other family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
